When we first met with Jared and Ashley, we were delighted by how much these two were truly made for each other! Their first date was at a Starbucks, and Jared proposed to Ashley in a pumpkin patch last Fall - How cute is that?! Most importantly, these two share their faith in Christ and are dedicated to living out their marriage God's way.
Their wedding day beautifully incorporated details sentimental to both them and their families - The church, the family barn, the "getaway car", the Bride's ring with heirloom family elements, the flowers and decor put together by the Bride's mom, all had special meaning.
The fun started with a Fiesta rehearsal dinner the night before their big day, hosted by Jared's wonderful parents!
The next day was a whirlwind of anticipation and excitement, as Ashley got ready at her parent's home and Jared got ready at the church.
They both had special gifts to give to each other - a watch for him, and a personalized Bible for her.
When everyone was ready to go, we got to capture the father of the bride's first look of his daughter as well as the groom's first look of his bride.
Then off to Valley Fourth Memorial Church we went for Jared and Ashley's ceremony!
One special element of the marriage ceremony was the incorporation of a beautiful tradition: God's Knot - Cord of Three Strands. "A cord of three strands is not easily broken" - Eccl 4:12. This tradition symbolizes the importance of God's influence in a strong marriage.
They made their getaway to the reception in Grandpa's Buick - a classic that has been a part of the Bride's family for decades!

These two have a passion for the sea and for having fun together with their friends and family! We are honored to be a part of their shindig as they tied the knot (literally) with a traditional hand-fasting ceremony on Amanda's family property in Twin Lakes, Idaho.
The fun started with a laid-back BBQ style rehearsal dinner the night before. We got to meet their family, hear the band practice and witness the start up of the BBQ pit for the pig roast that will be enjoyed the next day!
The wedding details included many hand-made nautical elements - including a gorgeous wedding arch, guestbook, cake table, ring-bearing boat, and a hand-carved heart-shaped box made with African Purple Heart wood: all made by the groom, a talented boat-builder!
Their two adorable dogs, Kona and Huck, took on the two important roles of flower girl and ring bearer.
During the formal dances, Mike surprised Amanda with the hand-made box, with a personal note written on the inside of the lid.
Their outdoor reception included lots of dancing, games, and a large roast pig for dinner!
The Lucky Lizard Band from Hawaii provided the entertainment for the night.
We are so happy for these two! Mike and Amanda were amazing people to spend the day with and we are so glad that we could be apart of their day!

This is Vanessa and Justin. These two met online and fostered their love across two state lines and many mountains and deserts and plains. Vanessa is from Maple Valley, WA and Justin is from Bearmouth, MT - Spokane just happened to be their place to see each other in between and where Justin proposed to Vanessa earlier this Spring.
Vanessa is the best friend of one of my best friend's cousins (truly not as complicated as it sounds, we just have a connection!) And I was absolutely thrilled when she contacted me about doing engagement photos in the city they were engaged in. Bob and I absolutely adore this couple. During our session in the Rose Garden in Manito Park and our dinner together afterward, we got to learn about their love for God and each other and how all the details of their big day were coming together perfectly. We will be cheering them on from afar as they are married in the mountains just outside of Missoula this coming Saturday!
These two were all smiles with Justin's zany personality and the connection they shared. We are excited to see them grow in their marriage as they make their faith the cornerstone of their relationship together!
Introducing Kate and Robert. This lovely and adventurous couple live in Kirkland; we connected with them as they were searching for wedding vendors for their Spokane wedding, set for October 1st of this year. They met at the marketing firm where they both work in Seattle. They love traveling and visiting Seattle beaches with their sweet dog Henry! They were engaged on Halloween of last year, at a friend's party - with Kate dressed as Princess Buttercup and Robert dressed as Wesley from The Princess Bride; I have to say, the cutest engagement story ever!
We started out our adventurous engagement session on a ferry from Bainbridge Island to Seattle...
We aimed to capture some beautiful and authentic photos of the love they share on the short ride over to Seattle.
After the ferry ride, we enjoyed an slam dunk dinner at a burger joint in Ballard before heading up to a park just north of Ballard called Carkeek Park. This provided some beautiful pictures with the greenery and some fun pictures on the beach!
We are honored that Kate and Robert haven chosen us to be their photographers for their Spokane wedding in October. We are looking forward to capturing their special day!
]]>For Reganne's natural light model session, we went to the entrance of the Dishman Hills Natural Area - so many beautiful natural textures! We brought along a vintage film camera and a handful of lilacs for use as props.
For our second model session, we had her in studio - testing a new lighting setup. She was a star!
As part of our senior rep program, Reganne receives a pack of her very own senior rep cards to share with friends! She is also our featured model in our 2017 Senior Client Guide - Request your copy today!

These two are high school sweethearts! Tristen has been serving in the military. Since he was home for a short while over the holidays, we did a New Year's Day Engagement Session with them in the snow along Lake Coeur d'Alene in North Idaho. Was it cold? Um, YES!! If I remember correctly, the temperatures were in the teens - but we broke out the blankets and these guys were rockstars in the snuggling department. We had a lot of fun with them and can't wait for their wedding in Deer Park in July of 2016!

We have enjoyed learning about their love story - turns out Ashley wasn't too interested in getting to know Jared at first, but after an introduction at a bonfire and a couple more group get-togethers, they eventually had their first date at Starbucks! We started off there for their engagement session before heading out to Ashley's parent's old barn - which will be where they will be holding their reception for the upcoming wedding in July!
The old wood of the barn provided a beautiful backdrop for a Christmas themed session, complete with Christmas lights and some mistletoe!
The engagement ring that Jared presented to Ashley at his proposal is a custom heirloom design by TamRon Jewelry Design based locally in Spokane, WA. It carries incredible meaning to both Jared and Ashley that is showcased best when paired with the wedding band that will complete the design on their wedding day. Bob and I are both giddy about the love that these two share and we are so glad that they chose us to capture their big day!
]]>For our first little adventure, Celena and I went to Manito Park to photograph some of the Fall colors at the beginning of October. We hung out at the pond for a little bit and then headed up to the rose garden. We had a great time with all the colors, the ducks and the beautiful roses!
A couple weeks ago, Bob and I took her to Liberty Lake County Park at the south end of Liberty Lake. There we had a little interaction with a curious little buck. He got so close to us!
The following Saturday, we had the amazing privilege of taking her senior portraits! She wanted to do her pictures someplace that would remind her of Oregon, so we took her up to Mount Spokane. She was a joy to work with!

I've been using a basic pumpkin spice muffin recipe from Lovely Little Kitchen. I substituted Namaste perfect gluten free flour blend and a little flax meal in place of the all purpose flour and since I did not have brown sugar, I just added a little molasses.
I like to use these silicon mini muffin molds I got a few years ago from DeMarle - they bake so evenly and pop so easily!
Most people who know us know that we have two very different, but adorable dogs:
Also, little known fact about us - we love acoustic cover songs! I'm just going to leave this here for ya'll to enjoy :)

]]>The sky threatened rain for most of the day, but even with overcast skies, the clouds provided a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony!
The bouquets were done by CJ Curtis of Lily of the Valley Florist. These were very beautiful and unique arrangements incorporating maroon calla lilies, white football mums, and succulents.
]]>Bob and I are so excited about Fall - The crispness of the air, the falling leaves, the colors and the sweaters & boots of course! (Ok, I'm a little more excited about sweaters and boots than Bob is.) We went scouting for our mini session location the other day and found the most beautiful part of Plantes Ferry Park in Northeast Spokane Valley - it has wonderful big trees, a wooden bridge and access to the river. We'll hope you will join us for a 30 minute mini session on September 26th: See available times below and contact us to reserve your spot!
3:45 - Available
5:15 - Available
Mini Session FAQ's
What do we get with our mini session? You will get a half hour of our photography time. You will also get 5 of the very best images fully edited in your own password protected online gallery. These will be available for download for 90 days and will be sized for web sharing and printing up to 5x7.
Where is this park exactly? Plantes Ferry Park is located on E. Upriver Drive just before it becomes Wellesley Ave. in Spokane Valley. The easiest way to get there is to take the Pines Rd. Exit off I-90, head north, turn right on Trent Ave., turn left on N. McDonald Rd. and left on Wellesley Ave. Go about a half mile past the sports fields, as the road curves to the left, turn left into the parking lot that is surrounded by big trees.
Can we bring props? Absolutely! We will have a few blankets on hand, but if you have a special teddy bear to snuggle, a cute sign to hold or funny rubber chicken (hey, whatever floats your boat), we will accomodate!
I want to schedule more time and I want more images - is this possible? Yes. We have set aside this day for mini sessions to accomodate those who may not be able to afford a full or half session, but we would love to spend more time with you! Click here for more information on these sessions - they include 1-2 hours of photography time, more location options, unlimited clothing changes, and prints!
How do we pay you? At this time, we only take cash or check. You may bring payment to the session with you. A quick note on sales tax: In Washington state, photography services are subject to sales tax and it is dependent on the location that you will be receiving (i.e. downloading) the photographs. If you live in Spokane, Spokane Valley, or Libery Lake, that amount will be 8.7%, if you live in unincorporated parts of Spokane County that amount will be 8.1%, etc. There is no sales tax for Idaho residents.
]]>These two wonderful people are very close friends of ours. They are a part of the college age small group that we facilitate for our church. We even remember the night they met - Taco night at our house! We are so incredibly blessed to have been a part of their big day and able to capture the hugs, tears, and laughter of it all. The wedding took place in the back yard of Sean's parent's house in Newman Lake, WA.
The bright and beautiful details that Ash'lee put together were stunning - from the chinese lanterns and blue pom poms, down to the garden flowers that she grew to decorate the tables and ceremony.
The most moving and beautiful part of the wedding day was the prayer they shared right before partaking in communion together.
Brad Pesnell, the officiant, holds a special place in our heart as well - he was the guy who married us!
]]>I took these photos up at Mrs. Kalin's Barn, a very nice wedding venue up at Green Bluff while we were taking some test shots for an upcoming wedding.
